Description
Sign language is a language used by the hearing impaired community using hands, facial expressions, and gestures to communicate and express emotions instead of speaking. Just like spoken language, sign language in each country has its own unique characteristics, reflecting culture, customs, and geography. Learning Thai sign language through the CMU-MOOC platform allows interested people to study and practice on their own to develop basic communication skills with the hearing impaired in daily life.

Learning Outcome Measurement (Evaluation)
Divided into 2 parts (total score 100 points)
- Part 1: 30 multiple choice questions (60% of the score) (Pre-test/Post-test)
- Part 2: Upload a video clip introducing yourself in sign language, no longer than 1-3 minutes (40% of the score).
Note*: This course is an easy-to-learn introductory sign language course, delivered through a 1-hour, 16-minute video. Students can access the course at any time. Upon passing the test, an online certificate (no competency certification or credit accumulation) will be issued, which will appear in your profile on the Lifelong system within 4-8 weeks. Mastering sign language requires time and practice. If you are interested in more in-depth training, we recommend attending on-site training with an accredited organization or association.
